I’m a huge bookworm. So I happen to know that there are books out there for ‘How to get into Harvard’ or ‘Brown’ or just about every other Ivy League school, yet there’s not a single book out there dedicated into getting into the art equivalent of an Ivy League such as RISD. Why is that? Do art students not need as much guidance when it comes to applying for college? Or is it some kind of twisted compliment in saying that we’ll figure it out on our own? Whatever the case, this is my attempt at addressing the lack of guidance for my fellow upcoming artists and designers who wish upon a star that they receive that delightful letter of acceptance to RISD. The letter that sent me jumping across my high school dormitory, squealing like a hyena that one sunny Malaysian morning of ‘09….
I am currently studying Industrial Design at the Rhode Island School of Design.
