Carol Ward is a semi-retired writer, mentor, celebrant, justice of the peace, actor, painter, poet and mother of four adult children.
The book is a practical account of the measurable benefits and pitfalls of divorce. It is a symphony of carefully documented topics made for easy reading. I found the self-help book easy to follow and the topics were non-destructive, informative and accelerated the reader to turn the pages.

The book is not overpowering with too many pages on this subject and definitely an enjoyable read. I loved the cover and thought it depicted the essence of a broken family especially the photo with the broken glass.

Being an easy read, lightly laced with personal experiences about the author I thought she injected authenticity and unfettered by the facts she sets out; the frequent occurrences and serious side-effects during and after anyone's divorce could be somewhat eliminated if one were to read this book; whether it is a male or female going through this ordeal.

This is not a story about the author's divorce. `How to Succeed and Survive a Divorce' embraces all the dysfunctional aspects about divorce as well as all the positive aspects and the author appears unbiased throughout the chapters, she even lays out a small tapestry of her own for all to read. The author does not protract any subject which might otherwise annoy some readers, she writes without frenetic pace.

The authors' forward approach is commendable and I look forward to more readings from this author on other subjects or titles. `How to Succeed and Survive a Divorce' is a book that demonstrates how we can alter our lives for the better simply by changing the way we think, the author presses all the positive buttons and embraces the future.

In today's society divorce is a common topic, one which no one hopes to have, but all too often we hear of someone who is going through one or has come out of a divorce; seldom is there anyone who will write it as honestly and openingly as this author. The chapters speak for themselves and I found the dialogue simple and endorsed with commonsense.

No matter where we live we will find this subject in every corner of the globe; divorce can not hide its ugly head and as sure as the sun rises every day so shall divorce. My experiences in life have taught me to learn about many subjects and although this book wasn't for any personal reasons; it was a learning curve to understand people who go though these breakups. I found many aspects devastating, as I'm sure it is.

Not having had this experience I found the book opened up to me `reader' a fresh and interesting insight into this subject and the aftermath of divorce.

It isn't difficult to overstate the importance of this subject, it is a must read for anyone who can't make a decision on what to do, It would be a very handy reference book for many people.
