The members of Outpost 11 are stranded on the dark side of the moon; facing certain death to say the least. As they pray for help; it arrives in the form of a child with a broken leg.
"Ranger Smith, despite direct orders to remain at a prescribed location, you disobeyed those orders, took it upon yourself, despite your injury and proceeded to the location where the rest of your outpost was near death. Thus putting yourself in similar straits. Is this basically correct so far Ranger Smith?" "Yes sir" replied Tommy meekly. "The outpost missed two scheduled radio checks; they were extremely overdue. I couldn’t just sit here and watch them die. I had to do something. I'm sorry I disobeyed Commander Jim" he said looking at the commander as if to apologize to him also. Commander showed no indication of acknowledgement or anything else for that matter.
Dennis Helms aka Bullgator was born in Bremerton, Washington. His is of Polish descent, which may or may not explain a lot of things. He moved across the four corners of the United States with his family, while his father was in the US Navy. Finally settling in Florida, he now resides with his wife in the small central Florida town. Growing up was uneventful for Dennis. He had his average experiences as a youth. He graduated from a Central Florida High School and then went on to receive a Degree in Computer Sciences after a five-year stint in the US Army. While in the service he met and married his beautiful wife Margaret. Writing was in the picture even then, for you see they were pen pals while Dennis was serving in S. Vietnam. Together they had two children, Dennis Jr. and LaShanda. They are now grown and have children of their own. Dennis Sr. and Margaret are doting grandparents of six beautiful grandchildren. He started writing stories about youth in today’s experiences, but then expanded his yarn spinning to the past and even into the future. His stories have inspired youth and adults all over the world.
