Alex and his friend, Jigger, aren't living a carefree hobo life. They're living the grimy homeless life, with its seamy people and unsavory situations. Unknown to them, they are being watched by two of God's archangels. Based on their observations of the two men, they are to advise God whether Mankind is worth saving or should be destroyed.

Two archangels, sent to observe mankind and advise God whether or not to destroy mankind, take on two homeless men. In the process, they learn that man has an incredible power...the power of friendship in the face of all adversity.

The novel is almost autobiographical. Brent Rankin, a retired home builder, has spent years working with the homeless. In fact, to "get the feeling," Brent has spent time on the streets, observing and notating the desperate lives of an almost invisible chaste of people: the homeless.
