It includes methods to: develop strong relationships, ensure better health, maximize learning, find more meaningful education, re-engineer your thinking, design a recipe for success, develop strategies effortlessly, work and be successful, utilize time effectively, discover your purpose in life.
Our journey of self-discovery is woven into twelve arbitrary paradigms .Whereby, a paradigm describes an overall concept acceptable by most people in an intellectual community, it can sub-consciously define its own reality based on personal experience and become very difficult to replace. Einstein suggests that, “Many insoluble problems have no solution until either the paradigm or the consciousness that created the problem is changed.” Each one of the twelve paradigms in the book is discussed in context of two mindsets: the old and the new, or what is adopted in this book, the limited and the universal mindset. A limited or old mindset is our normal way of viewing reality, that is, from the outside-in. Psychology tells us that we experience external stimuli and then react from the inside based on our memory. Our reaction is therefore limited to our past knowledge. This is the primary source of our problems: “He has different views from me, therefore I do not like him.” A universal mindset is a view from the inside-out. This new mindset can be thought of as a paradigm shift. If we did not rely on our memory or past experience, how would we react? Would we not judge an experience in its purest sense?
"A delightfully eloquent and wise guide to the process of awakening, showing us how we can open up to a new mode of being in everyday life. The book's greatest strength is it sheer practicality - it is filled with useful exercises and tips. It would be wonderful if it could be one day used as an actual college course - then It would show us the real meaning of the term 'education.' " Steve Taylor, Author of The Fall and Back to Sanity “Turning the Self Inside-Out is the most significant self-discovery guidebook for the new millennium empowering for all and especially the youth. It transcends all of the nuggets from the best sellers and the wisdom from the ages then distills these essential truths into the one coherent practical guide for personal fulfillment, happiness, and maximum potential. A definitive accessible masterpiece of insight!!`` Stephen Ibaraki, NPA elected founding Distinguished Fellow, Microsoft Most Valuable Professional Awardee, Chairman and President CIPS, vice-chair IAB World CIO Forum In the continuum of authors speaking of the enlightenment of the self, Longworth cuts a path for that so important personal journey.
