Patrick McCartney's family has been in business in Rossnew, a small Irish town, for more than one hundred years. Now Patrick finds himself at the helm at a time when the country is in deep recession – a recession he believes was caused by greedy bankers, dishonest developers and corrupt politicians. His bankers have called in his loans and are putting pressure on him to pay up. This is an impossible task. To Patrick, it seems that the bad guys always win.
