'Amyot' is an adventure mystery set in the fictional Northern Saskatchewan village of the same name. The context involves a questionable wildcat oil and gas drilling operation. Dusty Sherant, fresh from a prospecting job in an area where two prospectors mysteriously disappeared has undertaken a contract to supervise the drilling program against the advice of his business manager, Millie Coltron. In addition to the normal problems of winter drilling in northern Canada, Dusty has the additional burdens of dealing with his own personal demons, as well as a trainee, Kellie Angleton with her own hidden agenda, and the death of his friend Danny in a freak rig accident. An attempt on Dusty's life is eventually found to be linked to his developing romance with the beautiful Elena Padrona, a local teacher. Elena is murdered and Dusty is suspected by RCMP Corporal Lucie Hansen. When the murder investigation bogs down Dusty realizes he will have to investigate on his own. This culminates with a confrontation with the murderer. As Dusty recovers from his wounds the true nature of Elena is revealed, finally releasing him from the burden of his father's teachings.
