A few leap seconds added to the world’s clocks can’t cause a Hudson River Valley nuclear power plant to fail... Right?
Well, two boys are about to find out.
Set during the aftermath of the Arab Oil Crisis of 1973-74, geologic deep time converges with the second week of June, sirens scream from the Buchanon Point Nuclear Power Plant, and skyrocketing oil prices shatter the economy. Yet, for adventurous teenagers Mathias Ingram and Billy Baier, all that matters is the approaching summer vacation. The best friends yearn to continue their clandestine activities deep with their suburban forest.
But, when they do, their underground efforts plunge them into an incredible fight for survival a thousand feet below the surface of the Earth and 400 million years back in time. Their subsequent rescue lands them in an emergency room with symptoms of radiation exposure, after which routine diagnostic blood tests unwittingly threaten to blow the lid off of a forbidden, WWII Era genealogical secret to which their parents and the aging members of a mysterious organization have dedicated their lives to keep under wraps – a secret with which neither the medical community, nor society-at-large are prepared to understand or deal!
